A daily commute is sneakier than a road trip — it's short enough that you never fix it, but it repeats five days a week, so it compounds. Here's the highest-return routine, in order:
Spend two minutes on setup (once). Seat forward enough that your knees stay softly bent on the pedals, backrest just past vertical — not gangster-lean, not bolt upright — and lumbar support snugged into the curve of your lower back. No built-in lumbar? A small rolled towel works. And take the wallet out of your back pocket; sitting on it tilts your pelvis every single mile.
Use the traffic you're stuck in. Red lights and standstills are free reset points: roll your shoulders, gently arch your lower back, shift weight from one sit bone to the other. Tiny moves, repeated daily, keep tissue from marinating in one position.
Bookend the drive with two minutes upright. A short walk before you get in and after you park counters the hip-folded posture better than any in-car trick.
Upgrade the surface you sit on. Car seats concentrate weight on the sit bones and tailbone like any other seat. An air-cell cushion — originally built for motorcycle saddles — sits on a car seat just as happily, spreading your weight across its whole surface and absorbing the road buzz your suspension misses. Same commute, same car, noticeably less to complain about when you get there.
