In most cases, yes — a camera watching your parking spot is one of the cheapest ways to raise the cost of stealing your bike. Opportunist thieves want easy, anonymous targets, and a visible camera makes them think twice. If someone does go after your motorcycle, footage gives police something to work with and gives you a timestamp of exactly when it happened.
Be honest with yourself about the limits, though. Determined thieves wear masks and hoods, and a camera can't physically stop two people from lifting a bike into a van in under a minute. Treat it as one layer, not the whole plan.
Aim the camera directly at the bike, plus a second angle covering the approach if you can.
Choose night vision and motion alerts to your phone.
Mount it high enough to avoid tampering, but not so high all you record is the tops of heads.
Pair it with a strong lock and a hidden GPS tracker so you deter, detect, and can recover.
