Sometimes — but usually with limits, and it's one of the most common surprises in a theft claim. Coverage typically splits three ways:
Factory equipment: anything that came on the bike from the manufacturer is generally covered under comprehensive as part of the bike's value.
Aftermarket accessories: exhausts, luggage, bars, seats, electronics. Many policies include a limited amount of custom parts coverage automatically — often capped at a few thousand dollars — with the option to buy more. If you've built up your bike, that default cap may fall well short.
Riding gear: helmets, jackets, gloves stolen with the bike or off it. Some motorcycle policies cover gear; in other cases it falls under your homeowners or renters policy instead, subject to that deductible.
What to do now, before anything is stolen: keep receipts and photos of every accessory and piece of gear, and ask your insurer two direct questions — what's my custom parts limit, and is riding apparel covered? Adjust coverage if the answers don't match what's bolted to your bike. Documentation is the difference between a smooth payout and an argument.
